BabyTrack is built to track your baby's nappies, sleep, feeds, growth, medicine, milestones, and notes. This page explains what data the app handles and how.
The short version
BabyTrack has no accounts, no ad network, no analytics SDK, and no servers of its own. Everything you log is stored in your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, the same way Apple's own apps (Notes, Reminders, Photos) sync your data across your devices. Nobody but you — and anyone you deliberately invite to co-parent a baby with you — can see it.
What BabyTrack stores
Baby profile
A baby's name and, optionally, date of birth.
Tracked entries
Nappy changes, sleep and feed sessions, growth measurements (weight and height), medicine doses, milestones (with an optional photo you attach), and free-text notes — each with a timestamp.
Your own details
Your name and relation to the baby, and an optional emoji marker, if you choose to set them — used only to label entries when a baby is shared with more than one person.
BabyTrack does not ask for your real name, email address, or any account credentials, and does not access your contacts, location, camera roll (beyond a photo you explicitly attach to a milestone), or any data unrelated to the above.
Where it's stored
All data lives in your personal iCloud account, in a private CloudKit database associated with your Apple ID. It syncs between your own devices (iPhone, Apple Watch, widgets) the same way it syncs in Apple's own apps. BabyTrack's developer cannot see, access, or export your data — there is no backend server it passes through.
Sharing a baby with a co-parent
If you use "Share baby" to invite someone else (for example, a co-parent), the baby's data moves into a CloudKit shared database that only you and the specific people you've individually invited can access, using Apple's CloudKit sharing system. You can revoke someone's access at any time. BabyTrack never makes this data public or discoverable — access is always by direct, named invitation.
Siri Shortcuts, widgets, and Live Activities
Starting or ending a sleep/feed timer via Siri is handled entirely on-device by Apple's SiriKit; BabyTrack never sends this data anywhere. The Home Screen widget, Lock Screen widget, Apple Watch complication, and Live Activity all read your existing data locally on-device to display it — they don't transmit anything externally either.
Subscriptions and payment
BabyTrack is a paid app with a free trial, billed as an auto-renewable subscription through your Apple account. The purchase is handled entirely by Apple — BabyTrack never sees or stores your card details, billing address, or Apple ID password. All the app receives is whether an active subscription exists, which is what unlocks it.
You can view, change, or cancel the subscription at any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
What BabyTrack does not do
- No advertising or ad networks
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs from third parties
- No selling or sharing of data with third parties, ever
- No account creation, login, or password
- No tracking across other apps or websites
Your control over your data
You can edit or delete any entry, milestone, or baby profile directly in the app at any time. You can export your data as a JSON file from the app's menu. Because everything lives in your own iCloud account, deleting the app's data from your device or from iCloud settings removes it. If you've shared a baby with someone, revoking their access removes their ability to see or edit that baby's data going forward.
Children's privacy
BabyTrack is a tool for parents and caregivers to track information about their child's care — it is not directed at children, and is not intended to be used by children. It does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Effective" date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
